Strange metal from incoherent bosons

چکیده
The breakdown of the celebrated Fermi liquid theory in strange metal phase is central enigma correlated quantum matter. Motivated by recent experiments reporting short-lived carriers, along with ubiquitous observations modulated excitations diagram cuprates, we propose a model for this phase. We introduce bosons emerging from remnants pair density wave as additional current carriers These bosonic are finite momentum Cooper pairs and thus carry twice electronic charge, its net spin can either be zero or one arising two spin-$1/2$ electrons. show that such capture famous linear relationship resistivity temperature manifests Drude form ac-conductivity Planckian dissipation rate. Furthermore, incoherent hence do not contribute to Hall conductivity. electron spin-triplet symmetry also reproduce recently observed in-field magnetoresistance [P. Pseudogaps in an incoherent metal.
How are the properties of a metal changed by strong inelastic scattering? We investigate this question within the two-dimensional t-J model using extended dynamical mean field theory and a generalized noncrossing approximation. Short-ranged antiferromagnetic fluctuations lead to a strongly incoherent single particle dynamics, large entropy, and resistance. Close to the Mott transition at low ho...
متن کاملConductivity of a strange metal: from holography to memory functions
We study the electrical response of a wide class of strange metal phases without quasiparticles at finite temperature and charge density, with explicitly broken translational symmetry, using holography. The low frequency electrical conductivity exhibits a Drude peak, so long as momentum relaxation is slow. The relaxation time and the direct current conductivity are exactly equal to what is comp...

متن کاملSuperbursts from Strange Stars
Recent models of carbon ignition on accreting neutron stars predict superburst ignition depths that are an order of magnitude larger than observed. We explore a possible solution to this problem, that the compact stars in low mass X-ray binaries that have shown superbursts are in fact strange stars with a crust of normal matter. We calculate the properties of superbursts on strange stars, and t...
متن کاملStrange Antibaryons from QGP
Recently results have been presented which allow a test of the hypothesis made long ago [1] that strange particle production could be providing key information about the formation and properties of the QGP phase in relativistic heavy ion collisions at CERN (160–200 GeV A) and/or AGS (10–15 GeV A) energies. A strong enhancement of all strange particle yields relative to proton-proton and proton-...
